Thank you for your interest in becoming a Non-Executive Director at North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

This is a particularly exciting time to join our Board. Across health and care services, digital innovation, technology and data are increasingly shaping how organisations respond to growing demand, improve patient outcomes and deliver services more effectively. We are seeking a Board colleague who can bring strategic insight, constructive challenge and expertise in harnessing digital opportunities to support the delivery of exceptional care.

Serving a population of over 7.5 million people across the North West, we are the largest ambulance service in the country geographically and one of the busiest. Our 8,000 staff and volunteers provide a vital lifeline to communities every day, managing around 1.7 million emergency calls annually, responding to over 1 million incidents, delivering more than 1.4 million patient transport journeys and operating the regional NHS 111 service.

The scale and complexity of our organisation presents significant opportunities to innovate and modernise. Technology, digital delivery and the intelligent use of data will be fundamental to how we improve services, support our workforce, strengthen resilience and ensure we continue to meet the evolving needs of patients and communities across the region.

As a member of our Board, you will play an important role in helping us navigate this landscape. Working alongside fellow Non-Executive and Executive Directors, you will contribute to strategic decision-making, support effective governance and provide independent oversight on matters that are critical to the Trust’s long-term success.

We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who have led large-scale digital transformation and service modernisation programmes within commercial, public or regulated environments. This experience will enable you to provide strategic assurance of our digital agenda, ask the right questions, and offer constructive challenge at Board level, while ensuring digital innovation delivers meaningful improvements for service users, employees and wider stakeholders.
